Shirley Ann (Walton) Ellingwood

Shirley Ann (Walton) Ellingwood, age 84 of Crawfordsville went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville. She was born in Crawfordsville on July 19, 1935 to the late Kenneth C. & Frances (Meagher) Walton.

Shirley graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1954 and later that year married the love of her life, Robert Eugene Ellingwood, who preceded her in death on May 31, 2013. Shirley was a loving mother and homemaker to her 10 children. She enjoyed playing Bingo, listening to music, looking at Facebook, and vacationing with her family. Family was her life; she loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 1988 her and Robert moved to Florida and spent many years there, before moving back to Indiana. While in Florida she worked at Cousin Corp in the packaging department and loved working there.

She is survived by 7 sons, Robert Jr, Ronald (Deanna), Russell (Cathy), Randal, Richard, Rex (Cindy), and Rodney; 3 daughters, Sharon (Julie Jones) Ellingwood, Susan Ellingwood, and Sherry (Barry) Lewis; 2 brothers, Darrell (Jack Morgan) Walton and Fred Walton; 4 sisters, Lois Evans, Jean Stamps, Darlene Clark, and Carolyn Walton; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a brother, Ronnie Dean Walton; a sister, Judy Oltman; and a grandson, Jason Charles Ellingwood.

Cremation services are being prepared by Sanders Priebe Funeral Care. The family will receive visitors from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Waynetown Christian Church, 101 W Walnut St in Waynetown.
