Mrs. Alice Louise Ridge, age 74 of Waynetown, passed away on Wednesday April 2, 2015 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN.
Alice was born on September 4, 1940 at Sterling, IN., the daughter of Troy and Mattie (nee Groce) Carr. She attended school in Sterling, IN and Newtown, IN. She attended church at Waynetown Christian Church and had formerly worked at the Waynetown Cracker Barrel Caf? and the West End Bar and Grill. Alice's favorite past times were sitting on her porch watching nature, doing yard work, knitting, sewing and fishing with her husband, Harold.
Alice married Harold Ray Ridge on September 16,1962 and he survives her. she is also survived by their son: David Ridge of Waynetown, IN., and 2 brothers: Leon Carr of Attica and David Carr (wife Jerry) of Attica. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Don, Buss and Eugene and 6 sisters: Lucy, Hazel, Judy, Dorothy, Pat and Helen.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 7th from 3:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. at Shoemaker Funeral Home 202 Bratton Road Waynetown, IN., with a short funeral service at 5:00p.m. officiated by Rev. Dorman Winger. Cremation will follow. There will be a committal service of the ashes at 2:00p.m. Thursday April 9th at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial donations to either the Waynetown Christian Church at P.O. Box 296 Waynetown, IN., or the American Diabetes Association 6415 Castleway W. Drive Suite 114 Indianapolis, IN 46250.
