Allen Wayne Gooding

Mr. Allen Wayne Gooding, age 63, of rural Kingman, IN passed away at his home on July 19, 2016. Allen was the son of Russell W. and E. Joanne (nee: Grimes) Gooding and was born on January 9, 1953 at Culver Hospital Crawfordsville, IN. A graduate of Fountain Central High School he attended Yeddo Baptist Church while growing up. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and teaching his sons those things. And he loved to spend time with his family and raising a garden. He worked as a laborer for Fleetwood Trailer MFG in Crawfordsville, IN before becoming a self-employed contractor.

Allen married Karon Redmond on April 27, 1974 and she survives him. He is also survived by their sons: Cody (wife Brittany) Gooding of Clinton, IN and Jarred (wife Jenna) Gooding of Fort Wayne, IN and his grand daughter Ella Gooding of Clinton, IN. Allen is also survived by his sisters and brothers in law: Susan J. and Sherrill Hesler of Wallace, IN and Kimberly and Tim Rice of Bloomington, IN. He was preceded in death by his father on March 22, 2016 and his mother on November 9, 2010.

In keeping with Allen's wishes to have some of his ashes scattered in the hills, valleys and woods he loved the family has chosen cremation. Karon and the boys will host a gathering of Allen's friends and family to remember and celebrate his life on Saturday July 23rd from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Shoemaker Funeral Home 202 Bratton Road Waynetown, IN. Rev. Ryan sowers will conduct a short prayer service at the close of the gathering.Please come and share your memories of Allen. Those who wish may make memorial donations to either the Jackson Township Fire Dept., Southeast Fountain Community Foundation P.O. Box 95 Veedersburg, IN or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908 envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
