Alma Miller

Alma Marie Miller, 88, Crawfordsville, passed away Monday, January 31, at her home after an extended illness. She was born April 3, 1922 near Glasgow, Kentucky, to John Henry and Sarah Ann Frances (Peteigo) Davis. She married Merle A. "Bus" Miller in 1962 in Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1978.

Mrs Miller retired in 1984 after 31 years with Sommer Metalcraft, where she had operated presses, welders, and jigs. After her retirement she assisted in taking care of the elderly. She attended schools in Kentucky and was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church in Kentucky, and the Calvary Baptist Church in Crawfordsville.

She is survived by 2 sons: Roy (Dianna) Mills and John W. (Joyce) Mills, both of Crawfordsville. Also step-children: Larry Miller, Crawfordsville; Marcia Morris, New Market; Sue Johnson, Plainfield: 4 grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, John W. Mills, Jr; great granddaughter, Jessica MIlls; 2 step-children; brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 6, at 2:00 PM at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, with James Harwood officiating. Burial will be at the Pisgah Cemetery, Beckville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from Noon until 2:00 PM.
