Alvin Rentchler

Mr. Alvin "Dale" Rentchler, Sr., 75, Crawfordsville, passed away Saturday, August 13, at 6:55 PM at the Hickory Creek of Crawfordsville Healthcare. He was born January 28, 1936 in Boone County, Indiana, to Franklin A. and Viola E. (Fine) Rentchler. He married Carolyn Bruton, August 14, 1959, in Danville, Illinois. She survives.

Mr. Rentchler was retired from the Montgomery County Highway Department where he worked for 25 years as a truck driver. He also worked for 15 years at the Journal & Review Paper as a pressman. He was educated in Lebanon schools; a member of the New Market Chrisitian Church; member of the U S Army National Gaurd in Crawfordsville for 5 years; did bicycle repairing; loved NASCAR and dirt track racing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Alvin D. Rentchler, Jr, Crawfordsville; Sondra Kay Thompson and Janet Lynne Coahran, both of Crawfordsville, and Linda Evon Dougan, Martinsville, Indiana. Also surviving is a sister; Mary Catherine (Kenneth) Edwards, Alfred, Colorado; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Faye E. Nelson.

There will be a Family Graveside Service on Tuesday, August 16, at the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, New Market, with Elder Curtis Stevens officiating. There will not be any public visitation.
