Anthony Wayne Axsom

Mr Anthony Wayne Axsom, 27, New Market, passed away Tuesday morning, May 9th, in his home. He was born May 18th, 1989, in Crawfordsville, to Frankie Lynn Goodpaster and Curtis Wayne Axsom.

Anthony was a a 2008 graduate of Southmont High School; a member of the Baptist Church; and in his free time, enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and being outdoors.

He is survived by his Mother, Frankie Lynn Alexander, and her companion, Derek Thompson, who had been an important "father figure' for Anthony, of New Market. Also surviving is his son: Riley Wayne; his father, Curtis Axsom, New Market; his step-father: Michael Alexander, Pittsboro; his brothers: Mason Alexander, Pittsboro; Derrick Cook, Indianapolis; his sister: Mariah Cook, Crawfordsville; his grandmother: Madeline Axsom, New Market; and his grandparents: Rev. Frank and Paula Goodpaster, Napoleon, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his grandfather: Leroy Axsom; and his grandmother: Johnnie Goodpaster.

Funeral services are scheduled for 7:00 PM Friday, May 12th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Pastor Randall Glenn officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral services, with a family committal service being held at a later date in the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, New Market. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
