Arletta Helms

Mrs. Arletta M. "Lettie" Helms, 83, Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home surrounded by her family at 4:57 AM on Thursday, March 13, 2014. She was born April 16, 1930, in Danville, Illinois, to ST and Ruth (Coffing) Spivey. She married R. Eugene Helms on January 24, 1948, in Kingman by Rev. Shrigley. Gene survives.

Lettie was a Homemaker and enjoyed knitting, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her husband of 66 years, she is survived by 3 daughters: Regina (Steve) Sager; Mona (Mark) Hampton; and Lisa (Mark) Cope, all of Crawfordsville. Also surviving are 2 sisters: Genieve Reffett, Covington; Jeanette Mack, Bloomingdale; 6 grandchildren: Ramona (Mike) Haboush; Amy (TJ) Koepp; Megan (Dylan) Wray; Mitchell Hampton; Nick (Anna) Cope; Emily Cope; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Theron Spivey and Harry Spivey; and grandson: Eric Jenkins.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 18th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rod Curran officiating. Burial will be in the Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, March 17th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Riley Hospital Memorial Association, 50 S.
