Arnold Davis

Arnold Dale Davis, 82, Shannondale, passed away at 1:20 PM on Saturday at the Witham Hospital, Lebanon. He was born in Boone County on March 9, 1929 to Fred and Elizabeth (McMaines) Davis. He married Lillie Belle VanHook on November 26, 1955 in Crawfordsville. She preceded him in death on December 22, 2005.

Mr. Davis retired after 20 years from RR Donnelley's, Crawfordsville, where he had worked in the Shipping Department. He also did roofing and carpentry and was an avid collector and recycler. He was a 1947 graduate of Dover High School and had served in the U S Army, 101st Infantry, 793rd Battalion, as a Military Policeman.

He is survived by children: Beth Davis, Lebanon; Dennis Broach, Logansport, IN; Don (Tina) Broach, Lebanon; David (Carolyn) Broach, Hillsboro, Missouri; and Joseph (Rhonda) Davis, Shannondale. Also surviving are brothers: Ken (Hazel) Davis, Shannondale, and Dane Davis, Riverside, CA; sister: Betty (Ron) Fleming, Clermont, IN; 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Blane and Harley Davis.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 25, at 11:00 AM, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, with Rev. Jeremy Broach, officiating. Burial will be at the Davis Cemetery, Shannondale, with military graveside rites being conducted by the VFW and American Legion Posts of Crawfordsville.
