Mrs. Arvilla Jean (Pat) Hardwick, age 84, Crawfordsville, died March 5th, 2017, in the IU North Hospital. She was born in 1932 to Moreland and Henrietta (Ellingwood) Hudson. She married John E. Hardwick, her husband of 67 years. He preceded her in death in 2016.
Pat was a Homemaker; active in Scouting; and worked at the Jamestown IGA for several years. After her husband, John, retired, Pat and John restored and operated the Yount's Mill Bed & Breakfast for several years, and traveled worldwide. After relocating in Crawfordsville, she was active in the Antique Club, Current Events Club, and the Historical Society, volunteering at the Lane Place.
Surviving are her children: John D. (Deborah) Hardwick; Gary D. (Anita) Hardwick; Michael A. Hardwick; and Renee (Hardwick) McCoskey. Also surviving is her brother: Don (Iris) Hudson; sister-in-law: Rosalie (Dick) Walters; three grandsons; two granddaughters; four great-grandsons; and 3 great-granddaughters.
Cremation was chosen with a Family Committal Service being held Friday, March 10th, in the Lincoln Memory Gardens at Whitestown, with Pastor Steve Vitaniemi officiating. For those wanting to pay their respects, the family will greet friends Friday evening, March 10th, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, Crawfordsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Montgomery County Historical Society, 212 S. Water St., Crawfordsville, IN 47933; or to the charity of your choice.
