Barbara Bannon

Mrs Barbara Anna Bannon, 80, Crawfordsville, formerly Parkersburg, passed away Saturday in the Williamsburg Healthcare, Crawfordsville. She was born March 27, 1931, in New Ross, Indiana, to Oran F. and June (Duzane) Tharp. She married Max M. Bannon, November 18, 1951, in New Ross, Indiana. He preceded her in death in 2008.

Mrs Bannon was a farm wife and had worked for a short time at RR Donnelleys, Crawfordsville. She attended 11 years of school and was a 1949 graduate of New Ross High School; member of the Parkersburg Christian Church, Double Duzzins Club, Parkersburg Christian Church Ladies Aid, and Square Busters Square Dancing Club. In her free time she also enjoyed crafts, knitting, sewing, and reading.

She is survived by her children: Mike Bannon, Denver, Colorado; Dennis (Cindy) Bannon, Parkersburg, Indiana; and Linda (MIke) Johnson, Crawfordsville. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Mindy (Tyler) Nichols; Steven Johnson; Kyle (Haylee)Bannon; Mallory (Kyle) Kessler, and Jason Bannon: 5 great grandchildren: Carter, Clay, Claire Kessler; Hattie Bannon; and Baynx Sterling. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters:Carolyn Jean Smith and Helen Louise White.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 7, at 11:00 AM, at the Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, with Rev. Rich Fuller, officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Grant Avenue Cemetery, Crawfordsville. Visitation will be at the funeral home, Tuesday, March 6, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
