Barbara Brown

Mrs. Barbara Joan Brown, 68, Crawfordsville, died early Wednesday, May 15, at the Williamsburg Healthcare. She was born July 6, 1944 in Putnam County to Noble C. and Edith E. (Nichols) Fry. She married Russell Brown on June 3, 1966 at the Parkersburg Christian Church. He preceded her in death in 2001.

Mrs. Brown worked at the Ben Hur Nursing Home as a nursing assistant and later was a school crossing guard. She was a graduate of New Market High School; member of the Woodland Heights Christian Church; was a 10 year member of 4-H, where she enjoyed showing her sheep at the county and state fairs; she also enjoyed attending Hanging Rock Christian Church Camp.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her parents of Roachdale; daughter: Angela (Danny) Knarr, Kentucky; son: Bradley (Shawn) Brown, Pittsboro; brothers: Ralph( Ruth) Fry and Phillip (Janice) Fry, both of Roachdale; 3 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, at 3:00 PM at the Woodland Heights Christian Church, 468 Woodland Heights Dr., Crawfordsville, with Rev. Steve Wilkie officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Darlington. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 1:00 PM until service time. Memorials may be made to the church.
