Barbara Joanne Suiter

Mrs. Barbara Joanne Suiter, 76, Jamestown, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday afternoon, December 21st. She was born July 24th, 1940, in Benton County, to John and Margaret (Halsema) Gick. She married James Henderson Suiter in Lafayette on May 21st, 1958. He preceded her in death in 2007.

Barbara retired after 20 years with Krogers in Crawfordsville, where she had been a Cashier and Stockperson. After that retirement, she worked for 15 years as an Administrative Assistant for the Lizton State Bank. She was a graduate of Colfax High School; a member of the St. Bernard's Catholic Church; and in her free time enjoyed playing Bingo.

She is survived by her sons: Steven Suiter of Jamestown; David (Pamela) Suiter of Crawfordsville; and Jason (Noelle) Suiter of Darlington. Also surviving are her brothers: Duane (Connie) Gick, Wauconda, Illinois; Dennis Gick, Wingate; her sisters: Janet (Harland) Flint, Jamestown; Sue John) Gibson, Lafayette; sister-in-law: Marlene Gick, Colfax; grandchildren: Rachel, Tawnah, Kerry, Charlene, Erinn, Emily; great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Gianna, and John. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra, in 1994; and 2 brothers: Thomas and Jerald Gick.

Cremation was chosen with a Memorial Mass being held on Wednesday, December 28th, at 10:30 AM at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 1306 E. Main St., Crawfordsville, with Fr. Christopher Shocklee officiating. A Family Committal Service will be held in the Oak Hill South Cemetery at a later date.
