Mrs. Bernice L. Van Hook, 94, Crawfordsville, passed away Thursday, March 22, at 2:30 PM at the Lane House Nursing Home, Crawfordsville. She was born November 23, 1917, in Linnsburg, Indiana, to Fred and Vera (Reichard) Myers. She married William "Bill" Van Hook June 11, 1938, in Lafayette, Indiana. He preceded her in death in 1997.
Mrs. Van Hook was a homemaker and had worked as a waitress for 22 years at the Snappy Restaurant in downtown Crawfordsville. She was a 1935 graduate of New Ross High School and attended Mace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter: Sandra Utterback, Crawfordsville, and her son: Sam (Sandra) Myers, Crawfordsville. Also surviving is a sister: Mariam Brown, Crawfordsville; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers; 1 sister.
There will be a graveside service Monday, March 26, at 12:30 PM, at the Mace Community Cemetery, Mace, Indiana, with Pastor Rodger Ward officiating. Friends may call at the Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, on Monday, from 10:00 AM until Noon.
