Betty Jo (Lightle) Canfield, age 70, of Kingman went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 26, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family after a 15 month battle with brain cancer. She was born in Danville, IL on May 6, 1946 to Derold A. & Mary M. (Baird) Lighte. On August 6, 1994, she married Ken Canfield, who survives.

She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1964. Upon graduation she worked at RR Donnelley in Crawfordsville until 1970 and then was a homemaker, mother, and secretary/treasurer for Turkey Run High School for 27 years until retirement. She is a member of the Cayuga Christian Church and enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers, traveling, helping Ken on the farm, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Canfield of Kingman; her mother, Mary (Baird) Lightle of Veedersburg; two sons, Alan (Jennifer) Veach of Bloomington, IN and Kyle (Lexy) Canfield of Danville, IL; two daughters, Lori (Art) Mendoza of TX and Kelly (Joe) Salter of FL; and 9 grandchildren, Marshall, Kaitlyn, Hallie, Lane, Jacob, Luke, Mariana, Evan, and Collin.

She was preceded in death by her father, Derold and her brother, Jack.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 30 from 4-8 pm at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman. Funeral will be Wednesday, August 31 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Keith Warner officiating.
