Betty L. Evans

Mrs. Betty L. Evans, age 91, of Crawfordsville, In. passed away at Whitlock house on Monday May 15th, 2017. Betty was born on February 4, 1926 at Silverwood, In. the daughter of Ray and Irene (nee: Kiger) Newnum. Betty graduated from Kingman High School and atended bible College for 1 year in Frankfort, In. Devoted in her faith she was a member of the Sonlight Wesleyn Church, Crawfordsville, IN. Before her marriage she worked for one year at R.R.Donnelly and Sons of Crawfordsville, In. Betty married Floyd W. Evans on August 28, 1948 and they resided for many years in the Waynetown Community before they retired to Crawfordsville, In. Floyd preceded Betty in death on May 16, 2014. Betty will be missed by her son: Warren Evans of Fithian, IL. and her daughter: Shari Baker of Crawfordsville, In. her brother and sister-in-law Gary and Donna Newnum of Covington, In. 2 grandchildren and 5 step grand children and 3 great grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. Along with her husband she was pre-deceased by her daughter: Debbie Huber and sisters Norma Jean Voorhees and Sharon Huxford.

Funeral services for Betty Evans will be held at 10:00 am Thursday May 18th at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Bratton Rd. Waynetown, In. with Pastor Keith Jones officiating, burial will follow in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Sonlight Wesleyn church. envelopes wiil be provided at the funeral home.
