Betty Gravett, 89, of Crawfordsville, passed away on August 27, 2014 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health-Crawfordsville.

Betty was born February 15, 1925, just fifteen minutes after her twin sister bonnie, at her parent's home in rural Fountain County, Indiana, to Elston Enis and Bessie Funk Fay.

She married George Gravett Jr. on February 27, 1944 in Waynetown, IN. and they were the proud parents of John Robert Gravett and Rebecca Faye Ramey.

Betty was a 1943 Graduate of Waynetown High School, She worked at R.R. Donnelley and Sons in Crawfordsville for 42 years and retired in 1989. Betty as a member of the American Legion Auxilary and the Waynetown Baptist Church.

Betty Devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with each of them and attending the various activities that they were involved in. She had a special relationship with each child and they believed that they were the favorite. Betty also enjoyed cooking for her family. Fried Chicken, homemade French fries and peach cobbler were a few of her most requested.

Betty is survived by her children; John (Cathy) Gravett of Phoenix, AR., Rebecca Ramey of Crawfordsville, In., sister Bonnie Simmons and sister-in-law Jane Fay both of Waynetown, IN. grandchildren, Brian, Rob, Scott,(Michele), Jon(Sharon) and Shelby. Great grandchildren, Rachel, Aubrey, Charliz, Sasha, Josephine, Kendal, Riley, Francesca n Kane and several nieces and nephews. She was precede in death by hr parents, husband, sister - Barbara, brothers James, Charles and Louis and 1 granddaughter Teresa.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday August 31, 2014 at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown, IN. with Rev. Ron Raffignone officiating. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The family will receive guests prior to the services from 1:00pm until
3:00pm on Sunday.
