Ms.. Betty J. Mardovin, 81, Alamo, was called home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, May 27, at 6:00 AM. She was born March 1, 1932, in Norton, Virginia, to S. G. and Norma (Bolling) Thomas. She was raised by her grandparents: John P. and Rosa Bolling.
Ms. Mardovin was retired from Bethlehem Steel in Portage, Indiana. She was a member of the Gateway Church, South Lake Texas, through their T.V. Ministry. In her free time she enjoyed reading her Bible and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her children: Larry J. Moore, Alamo; Charles (Annette) Moore, Portage, Indiana; Michael Moore, Harve-De-Grace, Maryland; Dalton (Connie) Hobgood, Tennessee; Mary (Robert) Pekowski, Keller, Texas; Jeannie Oyler, Newport News, Virginia; and Donna Bernall, Hammond, Indiana. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; daughter: Susan Farley; and brother: Steve Thomas.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 29, at 2:00 PM in the Whitesville Christian Church, 3603 S. Ladoga Rd., with Rev. Michael Whitacre officiating. Burial will follow the funeral services. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday, from Noon until service time
