Betty Joan Selby

Mrs. Betty Joan Selby, 87, Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday evening,February 7th, 2018, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital, Lafayette. She was born June 27th, 1930, in Montgomery County to Frank Dale and Helen Martha (Keys) Biggs. She married Kenneth Earl Selby on August 27th, 1948, in Montgomery County. He survives.

Betty was a Homemaker; a Proofreader at R.R. Donnelleys; and retired after 20 years with J. C. Penneys in Crawfordsville. She was a 1948 graduate of Crawfordsville High School; a member of the Alamo Order of the Eastern Star; a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and currently attended the Eastside Baptist Church. In her free time she enjoyed golfing; fishing; working in her garden; and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter: Marsha Lynn (Robert) Mieure, Sullivan, Indiana; her sons: Jerry (Diane) Selby, Zionsville; and Stephen (Karen) Selby, Crawfordsville; Also surviving are her sisters: Margaret (James) McClure, Crawfordsville; Judith Thomerson, Brownsburg; Victoria (Donald) Morrison, West Lafayette; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother: Jerry Biggs; and her sister: Dorothy Logsdon.

Cremation was chosen with a Memorial Service being held on Sunday,February 11th, at 4:00 PM at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Whicker officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home onSundayfrom 2:00 PM until the service time.
