With heavy hearts, but most joyous memories, the family of Billy Arnold Douglas, 81, Crawfordsville, announce his calling to join his Lord and God in Heaven. Billy was born May 27, 1931, in Crawfordsville, to Raymond E. and Bertha M. (Willoughby) Douglas.
Mr. Douglas was retired from RR Donnelleys after 37 years, where he had been a Journeyman Machine Bookbinder. He was a 1950 graduate of Crawfordsville High School; proudly served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War; and was a member of the Darlington American Legion Post.
He is survived by his children: Eric Douglas, Crawfordsville; Todd (Amanda) Douglas, Crawfordsville, Cindy (Scott) Corey, Crawfordsville; step-children: Rick (Betsy) Moore, Indianapolis; Debbie (Larry) Cassida, Pittsboro; Brenda (Buck) Stonebraker, Crawfordsville; Denise James, Terre Haute; Gary, Dan, Brett Chastain; personal friend: Larry W. Belt. Also surviving are several grand and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives: Betty J. Moore and Rose H. Chastain; also an infant son: Scott Douglas; daughters: Ireva L. Douglas and Tina L. Truax; a brother: Bobby Douglas; a sister: Mildred A. Moore.
A public committal service will be held Wednesday, February 20, at 10:00 AM, in the Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum, with Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. Entombment will follow the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to: Disabled American Veterans, Gift Processing, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301, or to DAV.org.
