Billy Joe Wray

Billy Joe Wray, age 76 of Crawfordsville passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019 at The Lane House in Crawfordsville.  He was born in Montgomery County on August 26, 1943 to the late Russell L. & Goldie M. (Thomas) Wray.

Billy attended Alamo and Crawfordsville schools and married Sandy Baumgardt on July 18, 1964, they later divorced, and he remarried Reitha Marie Shoe on January 5, 1990, and she survives.  Throughout the years he worked at the Indiana State Highway Department, Montgomery County Highway Department, Crawfordsville Street Department, and retired from IMI Erving Concrete.  He loved to fish and enjoyed attending church and spending time with his family and friends.  He didn’t know a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone.  He attended the First Assembly of God Church and Lifespring Church.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Reitha Wray; a daughter, Debbie (Greg) Holman of Waynetown; a brother, Tom (Delores) Wray of Crawfordsville; and 4 grandchildren, Derek (Shelly) Holman of Sheridan, Kellie Cloncs of Crawfordsville, Mike (Megan) Cloncs of Waynetown, and Courtney (Josh) Wheeler of Williamsport; 10 great grandchildren, Dawson, Jordan, Katlyn, Calan, Stormy, Skyley, Gauge, Easton, Kaylyn, and Keegan;  one great great grandson, Luke; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sandy Wray; two brothers, Raymond Wray and Don Wray; and three sisters, Viriginia Martin, Marge McNulty, and Mary Swank.
