Carl Caldwell

Mr. Carl Daniel "Tom" Caldwell, 77, Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 14, in his home. He was born December 29, 1935 in Montgomery County, to Carl J. and Louise (Pointer) Caldwell. He first married Carolyn Krise and then later married Sandra K. Sandusky on April 16, 1981 in Waynetown.

Mr. Caldwell retired from RR Donnelleys after 35 1/2 years, where he had been a hoist driver. He was a 1954 graduate of Crawfordsville High School; member of the New Market Christian Church; and in his spare time enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy; his sons: Daniel Caldwell, Jamestown, and Mark (Donna) Caldwell, Fountaintown. Also surviving are his brothers: Charles (Irene) Caldwell, Crawfordsville; Mack Caldwell, Lafayette; Richard (Beverly Caldwell, Whiteland; sister: Rose Hill, Crawfordsville; grandchildren: Kimberly Byerley; Amanda, Zachary, and Nathaniel Caldwell; great grandchildren: Megan Byerley and Brodi Caldwell. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Helen Holt.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 19, at 11:00 AM in the New Market Christian Church, 302 S. Third St., New Market, with Revs. Kurt Flora and Ryan Bordner officiating. Burial will be in the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, New Market. Friends may call at the Church on Sunday, August 18, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
