Carl Leon Hamand, age 86 of Clinton, and formerly of Cayuga, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 while at his daughter's house surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Danville, Illinois on February 4, 1938 to the late Earl & Mary (Eller) Hamand.

Carl graduated from Cayuga High School in 1957 and proudly served his country in the United States Army in Germany from 1961-1963. On March 18, 1972 he married the love of his life, Dianne West, who preceded him in death on April 23, 2022. He was a member of the Carpenters Union #133 for 55 years, a member of Victory Baptist Church in Clinton, and a member of the Cayuga American Legion Post 263. He helped build several bridges in the local area including the River Bridges @ Perrysville and Lodi/Cayuga. He helped build the bleachers at the Indy 500 and also worked gate security at the Indy 500. He loved racing and hot rods since an early age and saw his last Indy 500 race in the stands in 2023. He loved attending all kinds of events and was known as Mr. Social Butterfly. He was loved dearly and will be missed by many.

He is survived by his three daughters, Megan Ellen Hamand of Clinton, Paula (husband-James) Patton of Kingman, and Malissa (husband-Bill) York of Rockville; three grandchildren, Dakota (wife-Carol) York, Mackenzie York, and Gabriel (Kaydence) York; two great-grandchildren, Arayleana and Dawson; a brother, Paul Hamand; a sister, Karen Myers; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Dianne.

Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 11:00am with his best friend Glenn McLain and grandson Dakota York officiating. Burial will follow at Eugene Cemetery with military honors by the United States Army and Cayuga American Legion Post 263. Share memories and condolences online at www.SandersFuneralCare.com
