Carol Jean Gooding

Mrs. Carol J. Gooding of rural Wallace, IN. passed away at her home on Tuesday evening, June 19, 2018. Carol was born at Crawfordsville, IN. on November 3, 1938 the daughter of Clarence and Esther (nee: Wilhite) Weaver. She graduated from Wallace High School in 1956 and studied at Indiana Business College, in Indianapolis, IN. On July 13, 1958 she married Dale Wm. Gooding and they made their home at Wallace, In. where they raised their four children. Carol enjoyed playing softball well into her adulthood, she played Euchre, was a member of the Jackson Township Fire Dept. Auxillary, participated in the Community Club and was a member of the Wallace Christian Church. She still worked part time for Closure Systems International at Crawfordsville, In. in the quality control division.

Carol is survived by her children: Greg & Laura Jean Gooding, Diana & Rick Rush, Catheryn Gooding and Kyan & Jamey Link of the Wallace community. She will also be missed by her sisters Martha Rogers and Norma Poe of Crawfordsville, In. and 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 4, 2003, and her sister Patty Hill and her parents.

Funeral services for Carol will be held at 12 noon on Friday June 22, 2018 at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Bratton RD. Waynetown, In. with Pastor Ryan Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive guest for visitation from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home on Thursday June 21st. Those who wish to make memorial donations may make those to either the Wallace Christian church or the Jackson Township Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
