Carolyn Joan (Sparger) Bayless

Carolyn Joan (Sparger) Bayless, age 82 of Crawfordsville passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11:00pm in Crawfordsville.  She was born in Crawfordsville on December 14, 1936 to the late Robert “Bud” & Agnes (Swank) Sparger.

Carolyn graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1955 and married the love of her life on December 5, 1954, Jackie Bayless, who survives.  She was a loving mother and homemaker. She helped Jackie on the farm, worked at Southmont High School in the kitchen and was a member of Browns Valley Baptist Church.  She enjoyed coloring, watching movies and spending the winters in Florida with Jackie.

She is survived by her husband, Jackie Bayless; a daughter, Tamra (Larry) Utterback; a son, Bradley (Melissa) Bayless; a sister, Sharon (Les) Wright; 7 grandchildren, Kiley (Brevan) Cornelius, Kelsey (Wes) Cram, Travis Bayless, Taylor Bayless, Levi Golladay, Sarah Schaaf and Jakob Schaaf; and 5 great grandchildren, Harper, Hadley, Carson, Allana, and Willow.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lisa Ann Bayless; and a son, Dennis Bayless.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington Street, in Crawfordsville on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.  The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 11:00am with Pastor Wally Nichols officiating.  Burial will follow at Freedom Cemetery.  Share memories and condolences online at www.sandersfuneralcare.com
