Mr. Carroll Fruits, age 78, of rural Crawfordsville, In. passed away on Sunday afternoon November 25th at Williamsburg Nursing Home, Crawfordsville, In.

Born on December 21, 1933 at Crawfordsville,In.the son of Henry O. and Meredeth Steele Fruits, he graduated from Marshall High School and enlisted in the Army National Guard where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He married Vesta I. Cotten on March 8, 1953 and she pre-deceased him on July 31, 2008.

Mr.Fruits worked for the US Postal Service and after 30 years retired in 1993 as the Post Master at Waynetown. His memberships included the Waynetown Baptist Church, Waynetown American Legion and the New Richmond Masonic Lodge. He never knew a stranger and loved antique tractors.

He is survived by a son: Randy (wife-Sue) Fruits of Crawfordsville,In. A daughter: Diana (husband- Ron) Snellenbarger of Wingate, In. Thre brothers: Curtis Fruits of Darlington, In. Gary (wife-Janet) Fruits of New Market, In. David (wife-Jo) Fruits of Springfield, In. One sister: Marsha (husband-Eddie) Carpenter of Crawfordsville, In.

He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Cameron Snellenbarger, Kelli (husband-Marc) Welch, Wesley (wife-Dominique) Fruits, Kayla Fruits and Bailey Kiger. Also 5 great Grandchildren and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Phillip Fruits.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Thursday November 29th at the funeral home with Rev. Ron Raffignone officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North, Crawfordsville, In. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be at 8:00pm.
