Charles Allen

Charles L. Allen, 78, of Kingman, passed away at 5pm on Wednesday November 28, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born in Wallace on December 12, 1933 to the late Archie T. and Ura (Bowman) Allen. He married Clarissa C. (Caton) Allen on September 8, 1999 in Bluffton IN. He attended Kingman High School until he enlisted into the United States Marine Corp when he was 17 years old.

Charles proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He received 8 medals including the Combat Action ribbon and the Good Conduct with silver metal. In his younger years he was a body builder, he loved fast cars, raced drag cars and motorcycles, was a dare devil, admired Dale Earhart, and always lived life to the fullest.

He is survived by his wife, Clarissa of Kingman; a stepson, Fleetwood (Samantha) Caton III of Crawfordsville; a brother, Robert Burtron (Eileen Rios) of Beaufort SC; two sisters, Sue Blanchard of Rockchester, IN and Nancy (Dallas) Hammond of Lebanon, IN; and two grandchildren, Clarissa and Fleetwood Caton IV.

He was preceded in death by a son Charles Jr. and two sisters Kathy Mitilla and Mary Brinigar.

Visitation will be held on Monday December 3, 2012 from 12pm until time of service at 2pm at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street , Kingman.
