Charles "C.J" Francis

Charles “C.J.” Francis, age 73 of Gibson City, IL and formerly of Kingman passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City, IL. He was born in Terre Haute, IN on August 21, 1944 to the late Robert L. & Edith M. (Brazzel) Francis.

C.J. graduated from Hymera High School and on October 5, 1974 in Gibson City, IL he married the love of his life, Sharron D. (Hutchcraft) Francis, who preceded him in death on May 9, 2013. He was a life long Teamster truck driver who drove for Commercial Lovelace, Transcon, and Consolidated Freightways. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Retirees. He was the worlds greatest fisherman and a world renown baby hog. He enjoyed his retirement with his wife at the lake and traveling the country in their RV. He was a gamecock breeder, guitar picker, heart breaker, squirrel hunter, and food connoisseur. He was a tomato growing Champion and loved life to the fullest.

He is survived by three sons, Tracy Mott of Elliott, IL, Mike Francis of Marshall, IL and Chuck (Millie) Francis of Gibson City, IL; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Janet Nielson of Dugger, IN. and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharron and three brothers, Bob, Dick and Hal Francis.

Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 12:00pm till the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm.
