Mr. Charles W. "Chuck" Hester, 79, Crawfordsville, passed away in his home at 8:57 PM on Wednesday. He was born May 30, 1933, in Weaver Store, Tennessee, to Charles O. "Obie" and Floy (Darnell) Hester. He first married Blanche V. Vincent and then later married Wanda Lee McCollum Risner on May 14, 1976, in Crawfordsville.
Mr. Hester had worked at the Hi-Tech Brickyard, Crawfordsville, and retired from California Pellet Mill where he had worked in the Service Assembly Department. He was educated in Tennessee; member of the Church of Christ; was a U. S. Air Force Korean War Veteran; and loved to fish, do cross word puzzles, and play cards.
He is survived by children: Steve (Jan) Hester; David (Susan) Hester, both of Crawfordsville; Diane Lyons, Linden; step-children: Ross (Lois) Risner; Steve (Darlene) Risner, both of Crawfordsville; Debra Robbins; Lori Harrington, both of Crawfordsville; Lisa (Joe) Abney, Amarillo, Texas. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both of his wives; an infant daughter, Rose Mary Hester; 1 brother; a half sister; and 4 half brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 25, at 10:00 AM at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery, Waynetown.
