Charles Gary Neel

Mr. Charles Gary Neel, 68, Crawfordsville, passed away in his home on Saturday, September 13th, at 4:00 AM. He was born December 5, 1945, in Crawfordsville, to Charles Edward and Wanda Jean (Todd) Neel. He married Marcia L. Merrell on April 23, 1971, in Crawfordsville. She survives.

Mr. Neel retired in 1994 from Indiana Bell Telephone where he had been a Lineman for 30 years. He was a 1964 graduate of Crawfordsville High School; a member of the Indiana National Guard at Darlington; and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing golf, repairing things, remodeling buildings, and especially spending time with his grandson, Hunter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Amber Neel, Crawfordsville, and Julie Montgomery, Lafayette. Also surviving is his brother: Jeff (Debbie) Spencer, Michigan; and his grandson: Charles Hunter Neel. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Jennifer Wildrick; his parents; and his brother: Jon Terry Neel.

Cremation was selected without services. A Celebration of Gary's Life by family and close friends will be held at a later date. Powers-Priebe Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials may be sent to: The Trinity Life Outlet Store, 121 W. Market St, Crawfordsville, IN 47933
