Mr. Charles Ernest Reath, 91, Crawfordsville, passed away in his home on Thursday morning, June 12th. He was born October 19, 1922, in Montgomery County, to Elam and Lennie M. (Rush) Reath. He married Imogene Marie Peacock on September 30th, 1952, in Crawfordsville. She survives.
Mr. Reath had been a Foreman, having worked for 35 years at California Pellet Mill, retiring in 1981. He was a graduate of Alamo High School; a WW II US Army Veteran; a member of the First Baptist Church, Crawfordsville; and in his free time made wind chimes and enjoyed reading the paper.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Gary (Janita) Reath, Crawfordsville; Sharon (Jim) Dellinger-Kincaid, Pittsboro; and Sandra (Mike) Riggen, Crawfordsville. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Janet Lynn Reath, in 1986; his parents; and 3 brothers.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 17, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. James Ranard officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery with Military Rites being conducted by U. S. Army and the VFW-American Legion Honor Guard.
