Charles Edward Sparks

Charles E. Sparks, age 73 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at home while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lebanon, Indiana on April 4, 1947 to the late Delbert & Vessie (Purdue) Sparks.

Charles attended New Ross schools and married the love of his life, Vickie Largent, on October 22, 1966, who survives. Throughout the years he worked at Hyster’s for over 20 years and Hi-Tek for 25 years. He enjoyed traveling, listening to country music, racing go-carts, and working on cars and semis.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vickie; two sons, Charles (Diana) Sparks Jr. and John (Dana) Sparks; a brother, Layton (Sharon) Sparks; two sister-in-law’s, Mary Sparks and Cindy Sparks; three grandchildren, Mindy Sparks, Calea Sparks and Casey Sparks, two great-grandchildren Cameron Hurt and Gavin Sparks; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Roscoe Purdue, Morris Sparks, Earl Sparks and Adrian Sparks; and a sister, Virginia (Norman) Templeton.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St, in Crawfordsville on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. The funeral with be Friday, July 3, 2020 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill North Cemetery.
