Charles Fredrick Stevens

Charles Fredrick Stevens, age 79 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Rose Walk Village in Lafayette, IN. He was born on August 23, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN to William and Celia (Anderson) Stevens.

Charles graduated from Washington High School in Indianapolis and married Ellen (Liford) Stevens, after being married for 25 years they divorced. He remarried Ruby Stevens of Chesapeake VA, who preceded him in death. He worked on the assembly line at Ford Motor Company for 30 years, starting in Indianapolis and then transferring to Norfolk VA. He enjoyed running, golfing, the Indy 500 and loved gardening and lawn care. He was a Deacon at the Indian River Baptist Church in Chesapeake VA.

He is survived by his daughter, Lorri Stevens of Crawfordsville; his son, Gregg Stevens of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, William Stevens of Indianapolis and Joseph (Linda) Stevens of Florida; 4 grandchildren, Kerri Edwards, Kayla Stevens, Noah Stevens, Sydney Stevens; and three great grandchildren, Laine, Kenley and Jaron Hayes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Ellen and Ruby; eldest son Rick Stevens, and an infant sister.

There will be a private family service on Saturday, March 28th at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 W Washington St in Crawfordsville. Burial will follow at Oak Hill North Cemetery.
