Charles Michael "Mike" Utterback

Mr. Charles Michael "Mike" Utterback, age 66, of Waynetown, In. passed away at 10:30 PM Monday February 23, 2015 at home surrounded by his family.

Mike was born on July 6, 1948 at Crawfordsville, In. the son of Charles M and Vera (nee-Watson) Utterback. Mike graduated from Waynetown High School in 1967 and served in the US Army in VietNam, earning a bronze star. He worked for 30 years for Inland Container and then was a self employed truck driver. He also worked for many years for his lifettime friend Clark Sennett on the farm. Mike was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church, the Crawfordsville VFW, served for many years with the Waynetown Volunteer Fire Dept. where he was assitant fire chief and served for 12 years on the Waynetown Town Council in various positions.

Survivors include his son Mike Utterback Jr. of Buchanan, Mi. and daughter Angela (husband- Kevin) Lowe of Waynetown, In. One brother: Raymond (wife-Patricia) Utterback of Columbus, In. and one sister: Beverly Brunton-McCollum of Crawfordsville, In. 8 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Mike will be held at 4:00pm Saturday February 28th at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Bratton rd. Waynetown, In. with the Rev. Ron Raffignone officiating.The Family will receive friends from 1:00pm Saturday umtil the services begin. Cremation will follow the funeral services. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Waynetown Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 96, Wayentown, In. 47990. envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
