Charmaine Thompson

Mrs. Charmaine Elise Thompson, 85, Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, February 3, at 1:40 PM. She was born September 23, 1927, in Salem, Indiana, to Lonnie and Frankie (Payne) Winslow. She married Gene J. Thompson, March 23, 1957, in Salem. He survives.

Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker; a 1945 graduate of Salem High School; member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Crawfordsville; was a sports and IU fan; and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son: Phil (Gina) Thompson, Crawfordsville and her daughter: Jena (Ken) Palmby, Aurora, Illinois. She is also survived by her sisters: Lucille Benefil and Wilma Winslow, both of Salem; grandchildren: Seth and Connor Palmby; Clayton, Arin, Bryce, and Adrianne Thompson; John and Scott Jones; Samantha Shepherd; great grandchildren: Meadow Thompson; Chloe and Clayton Jones.. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Kenneth and Carol Winslow; sisters: Neva Tatlock, Rosie Moss, and Jean Cunningham.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 7, at 11:30 AM, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, with Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill North Cemetery, Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 6, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
