Cheryl Jane Young

Mrs Cheryl Jane Young, 67, Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully in her home Thursday, January 5th, at 6:30 AM. She was born March 10th, 1949, in Frankfort, to John David and Verna Belle (Pope) Miller. She married William T. "Bill" Young in Terre Haute on August 22nd, 1970. He survives.

Cheryl was a Retired Music Teacher having taught in the Middletown and Franklin, Ohio area schools until 1985. She then taught at North Montgomery School until her retirement in 2003. She was a 1967 graduate of Carroll County High School and a 1970 graduate of Indiana State University. Her memberships included the Ladoga Presbyterian Church, where she played the organ for 30 years. She later continued to play the organ as a member of the Ladoga Community Church. She also was a member of the Indiana State Music Association; and in her free time enjoyed being with her grandkids.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter: Tracie Young, Crawfordsville; and her son: Ed (Melissa) Young, also of Crawfordsville. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Bethany and Jonathon Young. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 11th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill South Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 10th, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
