Clara Bowman

Mrs. Clara Deane Bowman, 92, Crawfordsville, passed away Sunday, November 9th, at 8:30 AM in The Waters of Covington. She was born September 16th, 1922, in Veedersburg, to Henry Morrison and Leota Ellen "Nell" (Kearney) Grandstaff. She married Russell D. Bowman on March 15th, 1941, in Rockville. He preceded her in death in 1974.

Mrs. Bowman was a Homemaker and had worked for 9 years at Steel Grip in Kingman and for 4 years at the Wallace Post Office. She was a graduate of Veedersburg High School In her free time she enjoyed being with her family.

She is survived by her children: Michael (Marge) Bowman, Crawfordsville; Nola (Ernie) Greene, Veedersburg; Rebecca (Bill) Christensen, Silverdale, Washington; Jenell (Dan) Moore, Veedersburg; and Ramona (Larry) Vandivier, Warrensburg, Missouri. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; and 1 great great great grandchild. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters; 4 brothers; and 1 great grandchild.

A Public Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, November 12th, at 3:00 PM in the Wolf Creek Cemetery, near Wallace, with Rev. Jerry Austin officiating. There will not be a public visitation. Memorials may be made to: Guardian Angel Hospice, 1221 S. Creasy Lane, Lafayette, IN 47905
