Mr. Clarence "Jr./J.R." Richards, 82, Crawfordsville, passed away Thursday, February 26th, at 4:18 PM in the Franciscan St. Elizabeth Crawfordsville Hospital. He was born August 7th, 1932, in Danville, Illinois, to Clarence Sr., and Mayme (Tibbetts) Richards. He married Marilyn Joan Leeke on September 2nd, 1960, in Georgia. She preceded him in death in 2000.

Mr. Richards was a retired Electrician, having worked for R R Donnelleys for 40 years. He was a 1950 graduate of Alamo High School; was a U. S. Army Korean War Veteran; was a member of the Crawfordsville VFW and American Legion Posts; the Alamo Masonic Lodge; the Moose Lodge; and enjoyed playing golf.

He is survived by his children: Cathy Raff, Crawfordsville; Rick (Deb) Page, Brownsburg; Gerald (Patricia) Richards, Crawfordsville; and David Richards, New Market. Also surviving is his brother: Donald (Marilyn) Richards, Yountsville; his companion: Sonya Ray, Crawfordsville; and her children: Sharlie See and Chuck Ray; grandchildren: Angie Light; Kamryn Rescigno; Dustin Page; Megan Raff; Jeremy, Ryan, Chad, and Kelsey Richards; and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; his brother: Buck Richards; and his sister: Mary Adams.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 4th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill North Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 3rd, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Military Rites will be conducted at the funeral home prior to the funeral by the U. S. Army and the Crawfordsville VFW and American Legion Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 50 E. 91st St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46260 (alz.org)
