Clyde Arnold Weir

Clyde Arnold Weir, age 89, of Crawfordsville passed away at 1:56 pm on October 8, 2016 at Franciscan Health in Crawfordsville. He was born in Crawfordsville on June 7, 1927 to the late Otto Alexander & Dorothy (Long) Weir.

Clyde attended New Ross High School until he was drafted and proudly served in the United States Army during WWII and was stationed at Pearl Harbor. On April 25, 1946 he married Beverly Jane (Newson) Weir, his one and only true love, who preceded him in death on April 12, 2011. He was a foreman at Mid-States and retired after almost 40 years. He attended the Christ United Methodist Church, was a member of the Bryon Cox American Legion Post #72 and Montgomery County Lodge #50 F&AM Masonic Lodge, was a 50-year Mason, enjoyed woodworking, building computers with his grandson, gardening, vacationing in Gatlinburg, loved Nascar and was a Dale Earnhardt fan and loved spending time with family.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan (Arthur) Killian; a daughter-in-law, Becky (Tom) Gerald; two grandchildren, Holly (Kevin) Kellerman and Mitchell (Kari) Thompson; six great-grandchildren, Will, Lauren and Alex Kellerman, Graci and Roxi Thompson, and Eridan Killian; and two nephews, Mike (Betsie) Routh and James (Sandy) Routh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly; son, Curtis; sister, Frances Ruth; and brother, Charles.

A Funeral Service is scheduled for 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 12th, at Powers-Priebe Home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill North Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Crawfordsville American Legion and the United States Army. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 12th from 12:00pm until the time of service. A Masonic Service will begin at 1:45 prior to the service.
