Connie Sue Godbey

Mrs. Connie S. Godbey, age 68, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning January 29th, 2019 at IU Health Hospital in Lafayette, IN. Connie was born on December 15, 1950 at Lafayette, In. and was the daughter of Joseph E. Egan and Gloria V. (nee: Armantrout) Egan. She lived her entire life in Lafayette and attended Lafayette Jefferson High School. Connie was a devote Christian and a member of Harvest Chapel Church. She loved her Lord, Jesus Christ and is now waiting in Heaven for her family. She dedicated herself to being a homemaker, raising her children and being a big part of her grandchildren and great grandchildren's lives.

Connie is survived by her husband, Richard Godbey of Lafayette, daughters; Shelly (Frank) Smith, Jana (Jamey) Tyra and Lacy (Anthony) Mullendore  also of Lafayette, IN. She is also survived by her brother Joe Egan of Lafayette; sisters Vicki Clark (Roger Grant) of Crawfordsville, In, Mary Egan, Lafayette, IN. Gigi Rightsell, Linden, IN and Donna (Vince) Hines of Rockledge, FL. She will be greatly missed by her 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Sadly Connie was preceded in death by her son Luke Godbey (1995) her parents Joe Egan (2003) Gloria Egan (2005), sister Karen Egan, brother Mike Egan, brother in laws James Clark and Glenn Rightsell and her best friend since childhood Judy Wheat.

Funeral services will be held Saturday February 2, 2019 at 2:00pm at the Sacred Grounds, 724 Wabash Ave, Lafayette, IN. with Pastor Tom Camp officiating. The family will receive guests from 12:30 pm until the services at 2:00pm. The family askes that memorial donations be made to Samaritans Purse, Shoebox Kids, a cause which was near and dear to Connie's heart. Cremation will follow these services. Shoemaker Funeral Home of Waynetown, IN. is honored to assist the family.
