Curtis Jay Castelluccio, age 87 of Crawfordsville passed away peacefully on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Whitlock Place in Crawfordsville. He was born in Richmond, IN on August 11, 1930 to the late Nicholas & Maida (VanVoorhis) Castelluccio.
Curtis graduated from Richmond High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Earlham College and his Masters Degree from Miami Ohio University. In 1954 in Richmond, he married the love of his life, Shirley Ann (Seelig) Castelluccio, who survives. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a math teacher at Cambridge High School and Richmond High School and in 1959 he moved to Crawfordsville and was a guidance counselor and taught math at Crawfordsville High School and Tuttle till his retirement in 1991. He was a Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed photography, biking, camping, and sailing. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and always keeping his students entertained.
He leaves behind his wife, Shirley of Crawfordsville; three sons, Chris Castelluccio of Lafayette, Tony (Cathy) Castelluccio of Lake Jackson, TX, and Cam (Kathy) Castelluccio of Bloomington, IN; three brothers, Keith (Carla) Castelluccio of Indianapolis, Warren (Ann) Castelluccio of Renton, Washington, and Rick (Karen) Castelluccio of McCordsville, IN; a sister, Gloria Castelluccio of Richmond, IN; three grandchildren, Kimberly, Thomas, and Nicolas; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 11:00am till the time of the Celebration of Life at 1:00pm with Celebrant Amanda Atkins officiating. Cremation will follow with the burial of cremains at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date. Sanders Priebe Funeral Care entrusted with care.
