Dale Robert Downs

Dale Robert Downs, age 56, of Rockville and Avon, passed away on August 18, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 27, 1961 in Crawfordsville to Robert Charles Downs and the late Joyce (Ellis) Downs.

Dale graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1979 and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1981-1985 aboard the USS Waddell. He truly loved traveling the world while in the Navy. He had a variety of jobs throughout his life and he was currently working at P&P Golf Cars in Mooresville. He enjoyed camping at Sugar Mill Lake, traveling in his Jeep, and being with his family and friends.

He is survived by his father, Robert (Patty) Downs; three children, Nathaniel (Ashley) Downs, Mitchell (Abby Pickett) Downs, and Kaitlynn (Adam) Overpeck; three brothers, Larry (Brenda) Downs, Jay (Ginger) Downs, and Kenny (Tammy) Downs; two sisters, Cindy Thomas and Carolyn (Jeremiah) Wheeler; three grandchildren, Madelynne, Jace, and Zane; several nieces and nephews; and many, many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce and step-mother, Cheryl.

Cremation was chosen with a visitation at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 1:00pm till the time of service at 3:00pm with Lynn Dunning officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the American Lung Association.
