Dale Richard Young

Mr. Dale Richard Young, 83, Crawfordsville, passed away Saturday, April 30th, at 8:55 PM in the Franciscan St. Elizabeth Crawfordsville Hospital. He was born June 8th, 1932 in Frankfort to Edward S. and Mary L. (Brady) Young. He married Goldie Evelyn Scolley in Frankfort on November 6th, 1958. She preceded him in death on January 21st, 2015.

Mr. Young had been the Owner of the American Security Loan Company in Crawfordsville for several years and later became and Independent Contractor. He was a 1950 graduate of Frankfort High School; a member of the First Christian Church of Crawfordsville; and in his free time enjoyed the fishing, hunting, basketball, watching old western shows on TV, and especially being with his grandkids.

He is survived by his daughters: Beth (Brian) Hedge, Crawfordsville; April White, Crawfordsville; Karen Young, Albany, Indiana; Jerri (John) Fryar, Rio Rancho, New Mexico; his son: Jeffrey (Petra) Young, Denver, Colorado; his brother: Wayne (Mattie) Young, Frankfort; and several grand and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters: Thelma Beets, Edna Chittick, Helen Bratton, Laura Jo Vaughn, Bertha Dow, Jean Ewing, Mary Young; and his brother: Edward B. Young.

A Memorial Service following cremation will be held on Thursday, May 5th, at 1:00 PM at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Whitacre officiating.
