Dama Haltom Turner

Mrs. Dama Jo Haltom Turner, 83, Crawfordsville, passed away at 7:55 PM, with her family by her side, on Wednesday, February 6, in the Williamsburg Healthcare. She was born November 7, 1929, in Crawfordsville, to Herman and Calve (Hicks) Linn. She first married Marvin L. Haltom on October 14, 1945, in Mace. She later married Sim Turner on October 9, 1983, in Crawfordsville. Both husbands preceded her in death.

Mrs. Turner was retired from the Indiana State Highway Department and earlier in her life had been a waitress at Scout & Mary's in New Ross and the Sunshine Cafe in Ladoga. She attended Mace and Bowers schools; was a member of the One Way Apostolic Pentecostal Church; was an artist with exhibits at the Crawfordsville Public Library and the Strawberry Festival; had been a Sunday School Teacher; enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, woodworking, sewing, and crafts.

She is survived by her children: Kathy Haltom, Crawfordsville; Vicki (Gary) Ketchum, Crawfordsville; Tim (Miriam) Haltom, Crawfordsville; and Tom (Kathy) Haltom, Cincinnati. Also surviving are step-children: Virginia (Bob) Rommel, Las Vegas; James (Marianne) Turner, Atlanta, Georgia; Joseph Wayne (Vickie) Turner, Crawfordsville; William (Betty) Turner, Crawfordsville; sister: Genetha Waldon, Crawfordsville; and 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren; and 22 step great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son: Richard H. Haltom; an infant brother: Malcolm L. Linn; a grandson: Michael A. Haltom; and a granddaughter: Megan Haltom.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 11, at 10:30 AM, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Pastor Josef Lee officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill North Cemetery.
