Dan Uhey, age 83 of Perrysville Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 6, 2021 in his home. He was born in Westville, Illinois on June 7, 1938 to the late Elwin and Ruth Uhey.
Dan graduated from Newport High School in 1956. He married Sigrid Snavely on June 18, 1965 at the Rileysburg Church. Dan was a career agent with American Republic Insurance Company. He was also a lifetime breeder of Angus cattle which began as a 4H project. Dan was a past school board member for North Vermillion School Corporation, a past Vermillion County Farm Bureau board member, a member of the West Central Indiana Angus Association, a member and past president of the Indiana Angus Association as well as a member of the American Angus Association.
Daily, Dan could be found reading his bible, writing, and memorizing scripture and praying for his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sigrid; his children, Stephanie (Charles) Mercer of Birmingham, AL, Jeffrey Uhey of Perrysville, and Suzanne (Scott) Millikan of Napoleon, Ohio; and 6 grandchildren, Nolan Mercer, Nathan Mercer, Wyatt Mercer, Sarah Millikan, Hannah Millikan, and Levi Millikan.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Dick Uhey and Jerry Uhey.
Burial and a graveside service for immediate family will take place at Hopewell Cemetery.
