Daniel Lauren Sewell

Daniel Lauren Sewell, age 80 of New Market passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East.  He was born in Clinton, Indiana on March 3, 1939 to the late Lester Floyd & Vera Naomi (Gillogly) Sewell.

Dan graduated from Waveland High School in 1957 and married the love of his life, Oma May King, on December 8, 1957 in Ladoga.  Dan started his life-long career at R.R. Donnelley in 1957 and retired after 48 years in 2005.  He was charter member of New Hope Christian Church and a Purdue fan.  He was a loving husband, caring father and grandfather and a strong man of faith.  He enjoyed traveling, yardwork, sign painting, repairing books, making puzzles, and making cookie drops to first-time guests at New Hope.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Oma; three children, Jeffrey Duane (Jane) Sewell, Lisa May (Dennis) Gentry, and Aaron Dell (Kathy) Sewell; nine grandchildren, Matthew (Abbie) Sewell, Jennifer Sewell, Megan Sewell, Kayla (David) Hens, James (Katie) Gentry, Dana (Nate) Hunt, Erin (Tommy Kelsey) Sewell, Cami (Kaylie) Sewell, and Paig Sewell; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Dell and Emma King; and an infant daughter, Dina Lynn.
