Darrel Watson

Mr. Darrel Robert Watson, 90, Brownsvalley, passed away in they early hours of Sunday, August 10th, one week shy of his 91st birthday and surrounded by his family, in the Lane House Nursing Home. He was born August 18th, 1923 in Crawfordsville, the only child of Ralph and Pearl (Furr) Watson. He married Mary Jane Flint on November 29th, 1942, in Hillsboro. She preceded him in death on February 27th, 2007.

He has always lived in Montgomery County and loved being a Farmer. He drove a school bus for the South Montgomery School Corporation for over 30 years. Darrel was a long time member and served faithfully in many capacities at the Brownsvalley Christian Church and for a time, the Parkersburg Christian Church. He was a 1941 graduate of Crawfordsville High School.

Darrel is survived by his children: Dick (Nancy) Watson, Crawfordsville; Bob (Betty) Watson, Waveland; Ed Watson, Brownsvalley; and Lori (Clarence) Brown, Phoenix. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Angie Watson; Vicki (Aaron) Luzader; Hope (Ryan) York; Jake (Jen) Watson; John (Stephanie) Watson; Anthony, Caleb, and Clarissa Brown; his great grandchildren: Levi. Grace. Hank, Dara, Ella, Evan, Colton, and Lauren. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 13th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. David Finch officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill North Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 12th, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
