Delores Alene (Junkert) Sunderman

Delores Alene (Junkert) Sunderman, age 89 of Kingman, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. She was born in Mahomet, Illinois on August 5, 1934 to the late Henry Joseph and Mildred D. (George) Junkert.

Delores graduated from Unity High School in Illinois and on June 1, 1952 she married the love of her life, Dean Alan Sunderman, who preceded her in death on June 16, 2016. Delores was a loving mother and homemaker and was the librarian at the Kingman Public Library for over 40 years. She was a member of the Kingman United Methodist Church, Home Ec Club, and the Bunco Club. She loved reading biographies, history and true-crime books and working in her flower garden.

She is survived by her two sons, Eric (Gina) Sunderman and Geoff (Tina) Sunderman, both of Kingman; a daughter, Stephanie (Ed) Leatherman of Montezuma; six grandchildren, T.J (Melissa) Smith, Shannon Smith, Kyle Sunderman, Shelby (Matt) Jahnke, Riley (Jessica) Sunderman, and Lauren (Nolan) Flinn; five great-grandchildren, Hayley, Ryder, Ada, Sutton and Kaia; and a sister, Barbara Fruhling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean; and a brother Alan Junkert.

Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 12:00pm till the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm with Pastor Steve Crum officiating.
