Dennis L Morley

Mr. Dennis L. Morley, age 71, of Hillsboro, IN passed away Friday morning April 12, 2019 surrounded by his family.  Dennis was born March 12, 1948 in Baltimore, Maryland the son of Louis K. and Dorothy M. (nee: Stephan) Morley. While a senior at Crawfordsville High School Dennis enlisted in the US Army and served a year in Vietnam where he attained the rank of SPC4 and earned 2 bronze stars. when he came home Dennis married Miriam D. Cedar on June 21, 1970, and she preceded him in death on August 22, 2018. Dennis was a retired foreman with Crawfordsville Electric Power and Light.  Avid outdoors people Dennis and Miriam loved to fish, trap, camp and do metal detecting with family and friends. They also held regular weekly card games.

Dennis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Eric & Kim Morley and their children Briana and Brayden of Crawfordsville, and his daughter and son-in-law Lori & Rob Barr and their daughter Rylee of Waynetown. He will also be missed by his brother and sisters: Karen Morley of Crawfordsville, Martin (Mary) Morley of Nixa, MO., Melody Merrill and Stephania (Dennis) Griffin also of Crawfordsville and nieces and nephews. Dennis  was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister Linda Austin  brother-in-laws Gene Austin and Howard "Whitey" Merrill.

Funeral services for Dennis L. Morley will be held 3:00pm Friday April 19th at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Bratton Rd. Waynetown and offiated by Rev. Allen Sparks and Rev. Nathan Miller. Burial will follow in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery with Military honors. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral services.
