Diane Patterson

Diane Jean Patterson, age 79 formerly of Lafayette, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024, at Ben Hur Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on September 9, 1945, in Crawfordsville and raised by her loving grandmother, Jennie Fields.

Diane graduated from Crawfordsville High School, Class of 1963. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at Purdue University, Department of Animal Sciences, retiring in 2011. She was a devoted Purdue sports fan. Diane was a member of the local Eagles, Moose and former member of the Red Hat Society. She attended Immanuel United Church of Christ in Lafayette. Diane was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre. She was well known for her elaborately decorated cakes and catering for several work and family events. Diane loved her family and was a proud Grandmother. She always enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities. 

Diane is survived by her children, Melissa Mumm-Owens and Rob (Lori) Barr; four grandchildren, Chelsie (Tim) Kittelle, Dannielle (Jackson) Timmons, Davey (Beth) Owens, and Rylee Barr (Tyler Osborn); seven great grandchildren, Max, Colton, Veronica, Aiden, Brynnlee, Elliot, and Baby Owens on the way.

She was preceded in death by grandmother, Jennie Fields; her former husbands, Brian Barr, Mick Crose, Lou Patterson, and son-in-law, Tony Mumm.
