Mrs. Dolores Arlene Epperson, 82, Crawfordsville, passed away Tuesday, February 18, at 10:40 PM, in the Lane House Nursing Home. She was born September 9, 1931, in Russellville to Charles and Sophia (Jackson) Bayless. She married Leland Epperson on October 19, 1952, in Browns Valley. He preceded her in death in 1991.
Mrs. Epperson had worked at Donnelleys; the Knit Knack Shop; and was the Owner/Operator of "The Sewing Connection" for 15 years, where she taught machine embroidery, quilting, tailoring, and numerous sewing classes. She graduated Salutatorian from Waveland High School in 1949, where she played alto sax in the band; she was a 10 year 4-H member as were all of her children she was 4-H Leader for 20 years, earning the Lenora Mathews' 4-H Outstanding Family Award, and also helping many kids with their sewing projects; she was a Brownie Troop Leader; former member of the Whitesville Christian Church; Whitesville Women's Circle; present member of New Hope Christian Church; Cornerstone Sunday School Class; Women of Heart; member and past president of The Sewing Guild; played the piano; loved watching Purdue sports and Colts football; loved to travel; was an avid Euchre player; and had a wonderful sense of humor and a natural talent for entertaining and making people laugh.
She is survived by her children: Jerry Epperson, Dothan, Alabama; Amy (Lyle) Sanders, and Joni (Doug) Keeling, both of Crawfordsville; 7 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son: Larry; sister: Shirley Michael.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, February 22, at New Hope Christian Church, with Revs. Kurt Flora and Rob Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, New Market. Friends may call at the church on Friday, February 21, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Hope Christian Church
